About Us
NYC Behavior Specialists was founded in 2023 by Maziar Golshannejad and Walter Umana. After years of working across New York City and its surrounding communities, we recognized a critical need: an agency led by Board Certified Behavior Analysts that prioritizes meeting every child exactly where they are.
We built NYC Behavior Specialists to be a place where children can thrive, parents feel supported and heard, and clinicians are empowered to deliver high-quality, ethical care. Our goal has always been to provide families with consistent communication, genuine collaboration, and individualized treatment that produces meaningful progress.
Together, we bring nearly two decades of experience each in special education and Applied Behavior Analysis. Our agency reflects our shared commitment to compassionate expertise, culturally responsive care, and a belief that every child deserves a program tailored to their strengths, needs, and potential.
Our Approach
NYC Behavior Specialists delivers high-quality behavioral therapy built on science, collaboration, and heart. We specialize in autism support, ABA therapy, school-based services, speech and occupational therapy, and individualized education support across New York City.
